Vienna-based Iranian Oud player, Vocalist & Improviser, Avin Ahmadi, born in 2004, trained at Tehran’s music conservatory and is now pursuing Jazz Improvisation at Anton Bruckner University.
With a strong foundation in Persian music, Rather than following established expectations, Avin Ahmadi has shaped her own relationship with the oud.
Growing up with an instrument that is often underestimated and narrowly defined, she challenges its inherited limitations and explores paths that had not been taken before.
With this approach, she has created a clearly recognizable and young personal style of her own in singing and playing the oud, intertwining the two.

Date Announced: Liminal EP Presentation at Salam Festival
On 21 April 2026, Avin Ahmadi will present her EP for the first time at Sargfabrik as part of the Salam Festival. The concert marks a special occasion, featuring guest artist Sanam Maroufkhani, invited and hosted by Ahmadi.
